Packington CC

Packington Cricket Club (PCC) was formed pre 1862 and played on its first ground at Normanton Road, Packington in a field owned by a local farmer. Friendly cricket was played against other local clubs as transport was not available to travel long distances.

The club moved to The New Field on Lower Packington Road in 1960. Later sharing that ground when the Old Ashbians Rugby Club.

In 1993 the Club moved to their current ground at Range Road. The ground forms part of the Ashby School complex. The school recently developed a superb purpose-built sports facility at the ground comprising of function rooms and changing rooms. We have been granted use of the facilities for both practice sessions and home matches and are grateful to the school for allowing us to use the facilities.

We play our matches in the Derby County League and were proud winners of the Derby County League Division 8 in 2015. We Currently play in Division 7S of the League.

PCC are a friendly club made up of players who love to play competitive cricket. We are a team of varying ages and mixed abilities. Our matches are played on Saturdays and our 2021 season will commence on the 17 April with a home match.

We are hoping this year to be able to hold practice net sessions at the ground during an evening per week.

If you are interested in playing cricket with us or would just like to join us for a practice session and meet the team, please contact the Club Secretary, Chris Ratcliffe, on 07825 069579.
